The budget passed by the NC General Assembly this summer includes funds to eliminate the student copay for reduced-price school lunch, or “provide school lunches at no cost to students of all grade levels qualifying for reduced-price meals in all schools participating in the National School Lunch Program in the 2022-2023 school year.”
This means students who qualify for reduced-price meals will effectively receive meals for free this school year.
