Participate in the Child Hunger Champions TORCH RELAY!
We want you to make a 10 second video as part of the Torch Relay for this year’s NC Child Hunger Leaders Conference!
This year’s conference theme is “YOU are the CHAMPIONS,” inspired by the Olympics. All of us have seen the historic Olympic Torch Relay that leads up to the beginning of the games. We are holding our own relay, by collecting videos of torchbearers across the state, which will be shown at the start of the conference and culminate in a special guest lighting the Flame of Child Hunger Champions!
This is a fun way to shout-out your team on the big screen during the event, whether you are attending or not.
Participating is simple:
Create a video of you and/or your team jogging with the torch!
- Your video only needs to be between 5 and 10 seconds long.
- You can make your video in whichever way is easiest for you. Simply using your phone is perfect. Or maybe you want to ask your communications team to get involved.
- Try to move from the left side to the right side of the screen.
- Try to include a landmark, sign, or logo in your video that lets us know the town, county, or community you are representing.
- Don’t worry about the audio — we will place music over it.
How do I make my torch?
Anything that represents the torch will work. Here are instructions for crafting your own torch. You might have access to a light-up prop or toy. Even printing off a picture of the Olympics torch, or rolling up a piece of paper to look like the handle, could work.
Be safe! We don’t suggest lighting anything on fire.
How do I send in my video?
Send your video to carolinahungerinitiative@unc.edu. You can email it, send a link to a Google Drive (make sure we have permission to access it), or use the free site WeTransfer.com. The deadline to send your video is Friday, February 9, at 11:59pm.
